James Schellhase | Chief Executive Officer

James has a distinguished career as a serial entrepreneur, experienced CEO, and WW Business Executive of a Fortune 50 technology company.  He has served on a large diversity of  Boards of Directors of public and private companies and served as a General Partner and Venture Partner of venture capital firms Techxas Ventures and Austin Ventures. He began his career in M&A at Deloitte and earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. LinkedIn

Jim Vint | Chief Revenue Officer

Jim is an executive leader in consulting and consistently recognized as an industry expert in investigations and data by Who’s Who for Legal. Jim has built, grown, and led technical consulting practices up to $100M in revenue that deliver risk mitigation solutions and strategic responses to issues in litigation, compliance, and investigations. He has worked with clients across industries and all sizes from start-up through Global 1000 and Am Law 100. He designs and implements solutions that address regulatory requirements, responses to litigation, privacy concerns, and cyber threat readiness. Jim began his career at Arthur Andersen and earned his MBA from Duke University. LinkedIn

Markus Lorch | Chief Technology Officer

Prior to Breakwater, Markus served as Product Architect and Senior Member of the Technical Staff of IBM Deutschland Research and Development GmbH, Germany. He led worldwide development teams in the use of IoT technologies, AI, stream processing and big data analytics to improve workplace safety. Previous positions at IBM included architecting IoT solutions, content management enabling petabyte-scale e-discovery and full-text query solutions. Mr. Lorch has a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Security in Distributed Systems, Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, and a Dipl. Ing. [FH] Diploma in Computer Engineering University of Applied Sciences Albstadt-Sigmaringen, Germany. He was a Fulbright International Scholar. He has earned six patents ranging from data management to IoT sensors, encryption and security topics, and several IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Awards, plus Honors by IEEE Technical Committee on Scalable Computing. Rebecca Patterson | Managing Director, Consulting

Rebecca is a consulting executive with experience building technical practice areas and delivering solutions to a variety of clients facing complex data challenges in litigation, compliance, and investigations. Rebecca works with senior-level corporate and law firm clients to design and deliver solutions related to data strategy, data analytics, and risk mitigation. She has led, strategically managed, and profitably grown the P&L for analytics and data strategy practices and has incubated application development, data science, and privacy teams. She has also served as Adjunct Professor at Fordham Law School. Rebecca earned her JD and Certificate in Tax Law from Loyola University Chicago. LinkedIn

Amer has over 20 years of experience across a broad range of technology products and services in diverse industries and market segments and is an expert in information governance and related disciplines. Amer has a proven track record in building innovative software solutions for start-up and established technology companies. Michael Henry is an accomplished technology expert with 20+ years of experience leading services and technical sales teams from early software start-ups to enterprise Fortune 500 corporation.  He is a versatile subject matter expert leveraging knowledge on analytics, architecture and design, cloud, content management, engagement management, information lifecycle governance, project management, software development, sales, and technology best practices.  Michael’s background includes founding a software consulting and SaaS development firm in New York City, leading services and presales organizations for multiple start-ups with successful exits, and serving as a worldwide executive architect at IBM. Alan Brooks | VP, Marketing

Alan is an experienced marketing executive focusing on fast-growth companies. His expertise in risk mitigation companies includes VP of Marketing positions at DiscoverReady, RenewData, and CaseCentral. Alan has extensive marketing, product marketing, and product management experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Cloud, Software-as-a-Service (“SaaS”), Big Data, and enterprise software technology. Pamela Gage | VP, People and Culture

Pamela Gage is the VP, People and Culture at Breakwater. She leads the vision for Breakwater Solution’s people strategy and company culture. An accomplished human resources professional, Pamela has over 15 years of experience as a global HR leader with expertise in M&A and Strategic Business Partner programs in various technology companies, including WP Engine, IBM, and StoredIQ.
